About G Thomas Hedlund

Future Bestselling Author

My Story

I’m G. Thomas Hedlund, author, freelancing, and father to a child with Down syndrome. I’ve been blessed in innumerable ways.

In 2009, I earned my MFA in Creative Writing after years of working and honing my craft through writers’ groups, workshops, and conferences. I’ve completed over seven novels, more than 30 short stories, and several screenplays. Yet it is only now that I have (finally) taken to the pursuit of marketing myself. It is often a long journey wrought with danger, land mines, and plenty of rejection. Yet I believe in my writing and that I have something worthwhile to share.

I welcome you on this journey and hope this relationship will be a healthy and rewarding one for both of us. A symbiotic unity.

My journey to this point has been adventurous and filled with challenges, but every success, every rejection, every stumble along the road has formed the writer, freelancer, husband, and father I am today.

Some believe that writers are born. Some believe they’re made. Maybe it’s a little of both. I believe it’s more the latter than the former.

Novels

2121: Summer Reign

Some think climate change is serious. For Ratford Jones, that’s a sick joke. He lives under the blistering heat of a relentless sun every day.

The Shiver

For 6 college friends, a trip to Florida was supposed to be the perfect final goodbye, but when they explore a sandbar and sharks circle in, escape is their only dream.

The Game

It was supposed to be a prank, but when a small town gets mixed up in a government conspiracy, all bets are off. Sometimes what you think isn’t real … just might be.

The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter. ’tis the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.
